An unusual and interesting engine. It is finshed in the Art Deco style popular in the period, with blended paint on the chimney and smoked effect on the base. The oscilating cylinder of this overtype engine is enclosed in a casing which hides the movement to give it the appearance of a fixed cylinder engine. This trick was used in Britain by Bowman and soon copied by Bing. Bing was taken over by Falk around this time and what we see here may well be a design resulting from this take over/almalgamation. Unfortunately it carries no trademark, not unusual for items made for export at a time when the source was not the most popular in Europe!
