Notes: This is an example of a brass boiler Jensen Style 45. Due to the lack of brass and other metals during the Korean War, as it was used on the war effort, the majority of Style 45s were made with steel boilers from 1953 up to 1955. Steel, water and heat is not a good combination so they rusted fast and developed pinholes that badly leaked on the heater rendering this engines unusable. You can test yours with a simple magnet. If the magnet sticks to the boiler then it is made of steel, if not then it is brass. This was the cheapest engine ever made by Jensen, but because it was difficult to build, its production was abandoned quickly by Mr. Jensen Sr. on 1955. If you happen to have a Jensen Style 45 with a brass boiler, you can be sure you have got a rare piece.
