Phil is quite correct in that this is an unusual configuration. The engine bracket and assembly are mount the opposite way around to the majority of SP1s. We can only speculate as to why this should be. Could it be that the hole for the safety valve was accidentally drilled at the wrong end of the boiler. In that case the hole for the steam pipe would have to be filled in by the rivet and the engine bracket would have to be mounted the opposite way round. But of course it is pure speculation. |
