Plank History

The Plank firm was founded in Nurenberg , Germany , in 1866 and specialised in steam engines and optical toys ( Magic lanterns ). About 1890 the firm began also producing mechanical and steam driven train sets and physics teaching sets and equipment .About 1900 they had produced some 80000 steam engines and 150000 magic lanterns. In 1934 the firm sold out to the Scheller brothers who stopped toy production and concentrated on optical devices such as still an film projection material under the name 'Noris Plank'
