This engine was thrown in with a Marklin I bought from a flea market in Sweden. It was in a bad state and it looked homemade but after some research I discovered it was probably made in the town of Tranås in Sweden by an unknown manufacturer between 1945 and 1950. The construction is fairly basic, the fire box, base plate and crank arms are aluminium. I first thought it was a twin cylinder then quickly realised it's a single cylinder with an inlet/outlet valve. I have fully restore it and it runs very well. The whistle and bush were missing so I fitted a Mamod bush and blanking plug, I will fit an old style Mamod whistle when I find one.
