This wood plane has a tin body, and a metal top which is hinged allowing it to be lifted to empty out wood shavings. It actually had shavings in it at the time of purchase, and had obvioulsy been used. The spindle drives a single rotary blade with two sharp cutting edges. There is a upper brass thread with nothing attached to it. I suspect that some sort of wood guide would have been attached here, but that part is missing. If anyone has one of these, please send me a photograph so I can get the missing part made.
